Spared a direct hit from Irene, the Cape still suffered much wind damage including downed power lines and the uprooting and limbing of trees. Wide-spread damage means much of the Cape is still experiencing power outages. If you plan to check into a summer rental (yes, it is still summer!), it is advisable to call ahead to the agency office to determine the exact state of your Cape Cod rental property.

On the north side of Dennis, the bay is like glass, and the sky is blue and nearly cloudless. South side beaches experienced more rough surf and a greater tidal surge; they may have some erosion and storm damage. But the sun is shining on Cape Cod and your vacation awaits!
